Each Summer, for the last 3 years, I’ve put together a whitewater rafting trip for myself and 20 of my closest friends. Each year, right around this time, I’ve gotten a personal “thank you” from the owner of the company. As the years progress, these thank you’s keep getting better and better. Year one was a simple handwritten note saying thanks. The second year included a gift card for one free raft trip. This year, I got a note, a gift card and a small package of chocolate covered hazelnuts put together by a local candy company.
It’s obvious to me that this rafting company “gets” the customer service game. They treat us like family during our guided trips, cook us lunch afterwards, and always end the day with a “see you next year Jeff”. Of course, I’m paying for all this service. Probably paying a little more than I would somewhere else. But I don’t mind.
Wonder what I’ll get next year?
